Our Beliefs

The One True God

We believe that there is only one true God who is the eternal King, the Creator of heaven and earth, and the Redeemer of mankind. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent – one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; Luke 3:22

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, living and authoritative Word of God. It is our final authority for faith, practice and essential for daily life as it continually points us to the person of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 119:160;  2 Timothy 3:15-17;  Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:22-25;  1 Peter 2:2

Jesus

We believe Jesus is the one and only Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in all power and glory.

Isaiah 9:6-7;  John 1:1-14;  Philippians 2:5-11;  1 Timothy 2:5-6;  1 Timothy 3:16

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He is co-equal, co-eternal and co-existent with the Father and with the Son. His ministry upon the earth is to convict and convert man as well as be the great comforter, counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate and strengthener of the Church.

John 14:15-17, 26;  John 16:7–8; Acts 1:4, 8; 2:1-4, 17-18; Romans 8:1-16, 26-27

Salvation

We believe that we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ: His Death, His Burial Ned Resurrection. Anyone can be saved and restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.

Romans 10:9-10;  Ephesians 2:8-9;  Titus 3:4-7

Baptism

We believe baptism in water, by full immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord. It is for all believers. This holy sacrament publicly identifies the believer with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection.

Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:1-11; Colossians 2:12

Communion

The ordinance of Communion is also a commandment of the Lord Jesus that must be received consistently until His return. Only believers can come to the Table of the Lord, which consists of the bread and the cup. The bread – His body, which was broken for us. The cup – His blood that was shed for us. Both elements are witnesses of the New Covenant believers now enjoy while prophetically declaring His soon return

Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 14:22-24; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 11:26

Sanctification

We believe that holiness is essential, for without holiness no one can see the Lord. Sanctification is the work of God’s grace that begins at salvation and continues throughout the believer’s life, progressively conforming us into the image of Christ until the fullness of our salvation at His return.

2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14; I Thessalonians 5:23-24

The Church

We believe the Church consists of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone, forming one body in unity with all believers throughout history. The Church is both universal and local, expressed in gathered communities under the authority of Christ and the leadership of local elders.

Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Hebrews 10:24-25

The Continuation of the Gifts

We believe that the ministry of the Spirit in signs and wonders continues to be as broad, tangible, and powerful among believers today as it was in the early church. We also believe that all the biblical gifts of the Spirit continue to be distributed by the Spirit today; that these gifts are divine provisions central to spiritual growth and effective ministry; and that these gifts are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised according to biblical guidelines.

John 14:12; Acts 2:14-18; Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Galatians 3:1-5

Marriage

We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by God, uniting one man and one woman in a lifelong relationship of love, faithfulness, and mutual submission before the Lord.

Genesis 2:21-24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:21–33

The Second Coming

We believe in the blessed hope of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will come again personally and visibly to complete God’s plan, bringing the resurrection of the saved to eternal life and the resurrection of the lost to judgment, along with the final judgment and the establishment of His eternal kingdom. We live in expectation of His return, seeking to remain faithful, holy, and ready until He comes.
